Went to see MILK (directed by Gus Van Sant) last night. Golly Gosh that Sean Penn's a right good actor. Should be seen for sure. Bit disheartening to think that Harvey Milk was fighting for gay rights in the early 1970s, specifically that bonkers Anita lady in 1978 and 30 years later California passed Prop 8. I s'pose things haven't changed that much at all. People are still badly educated, sanctimonious, bigoted arses. One day this must change and I do believe it will.
This week I also went to see Slumdog Millionaire and Twilight. Both extremely brilliant for extremely different reasons.
I go to the pictures a lot when I'm needing a bit of a break from the world.
