Andy Goldsworthy.

Sheep Stone.

Crow Stone.

I find the art of Andy Goldsworthy hilarious. I love it so. I think he must be a very humorous chap. I would have him at my dinner party. You know, the one where you can invite anyone you like. I would also invite Harold (my grandpa -he's AMAZING and also a humorous human), Winston Churchill, Oscar Wilde, Ringo Starr, Morrissey, Vivienne Westwood, Sharlene Durfey, Peggy Guggenheim, Marianne Faithfull, Russell Brand ...how many invitees would make a good number I wonder? I could carry on but it could get a bit tedious.

Angie Lewin.

I found Angie Lewin's work because she designed the front cover of the book "Natural Garden Style" which I blogged about a few weeks ago. And then I spotted her house profiled in Elle Dec UK. I adore her designs. Just adore 'em.

What? Your brother is awesome?! No WAY! Mine TOO!

I am very proud. This is my very own big brother. He's not no-one elses. He's all mine! He's the Acting Homes Editor at Elle Dec UK. He's been there a few months now. He's featured on the Contributors Page of the July 2009 issue. He's pretty amazing. A very talented writer. He dislikes rudeness and pigeons. He likes dirty martinis. We must be related! Oh right! We are! One of the biggest drawbacks about living here in California is that I don't get to see him as often as I would like. He is one of my most favourite people in the world.

In Control.

Anton Corbijn: In Control
$65

I feel a bit out of control! It's grey and gloomy in LA today which is maybe why I feel a bit grey and gloomy. These images fit the mood perfectly. I put the top one in for a bit of light relief. The hands and the smiles cheer me up a bit.

Happily Ever After.

Last night I watched Happily Ever After - the film with Charlotte Gainsbourg and her husband Yvan Attal. Johnny Depp also pops up looking deliciously disheveled. I have seen it a bunch. I heart Charlotte.

Interiors #2

New London Style
$35

Perhaps sometimes it's best to not go too mad with colour though. Perhaps it's better to stick to wood and calmer tones; creams, beiges, taupes. It's hard being this indecisive (and also pretty annoying).

Interiors.

New London Style
$35

I have a hankering to do some interior updates on my house. Susan Miller said in my horoscope that I might find myself with this hankering. I don't want to spend too much money on it though. Sigh. I'm thinking just a few colourful throws about the place could make the world of difference. A splash of colour is sometimes all it takes.

I would like to go there.

Beyond Bawa: Modern Masterworks of Monsoon Asia
$80

Every now and then I get itchy feet. When I first met Jimmy and told him this, he thought I had a weird foot infection, now he knows it's an English phrase meaning I want to travel. It's good he no longer thinks I have weird feet. I should probably have said I had WANDERLUST, but then he might have got to thinking I was feeling lusty which was also not necessarily what I had in mind.

These photos help my lusty, itchy, wandering feet.

Slim.

Poolside with Slim Aarons
$75

I was daydreaming about the summer. My summers generally don't resemble a Slim Aarons photo-shoot but sometimes I wish they did for just a day or two. I don't have a pool but Kelly from Book Club does! Yes! I will be having a very watery and literary summer. Huzzah! Slim is a tricksy name I think. What if you're a little rotund and your name is Slim?

Edith Bouvier Beale of Grey Gardens.

Edith Bouvier Beale of Grey Gardens: A Life In Pictures
$75

Snaps and a backflip! This is a good day! (as my friend Anne would say). To add even more sparkle to the day is the long-awaited arrival of the Edie book. We're too little to have managed to get the other Edie book that was released just before the HBO docu-film came out, but we got our hands on this one and it's quite something. It's full of family-photos, poems, letters and drawings.

Aviary Jewelry.

www.aviaryjewelry.com

Kelly - the other and only member of my LA bookclub - makes fabulous jewelery. It's truly marvellous. I own a golden bird necklace, a golden arrow necklace and a silver wishbone bracelet and every time I wear them some stranger accosts me begging for information. So here's the website for all you strangers. Now you can find her all by yourself!

Wim Wenders.

Wim Wenders
Pictures From The Surface Of The Earth.
$39.95

This isn't a new book but we just started stocking it. It flies off the shelves and I've already re-ordered it twice. It's the best $40 spent. Ever. Unless...you know....$40 of those fancy blue cheese martinis from Cliff's Edge - which sound disgusting but are DELICIOUS....nevermind. This is a perfect book for gifting, personal perusing, or just for fun-ing.
