It's HERE!!!

Tony Duquette's new book just arrived in! Hot off the press! It's 75 greenies but worth every penny for a peek into his Mad World.

Boddington.

I know people love their own children more than anyone else's and think their kids are the coolest. Well, I feel that way about my dog, Boddington. He is the best dog in the universe. Jimmy and I got him from the dog-pound about 4 years ago. He is my favourite thing in the world. He's not really supposed to sit on my Union Jacks (hahahah that sounded oddly euphemistic) but he looked so darned adorable that I let him.

My scans are a bit wonky, but the images are still marvellous. It's already a hundred degrees here in LA today. HotAsBalls. I'm cutting out bats for my Halloween window and wishing I was underwater.

I know I say this ALLLLLL the time but this book is wonderful. It's so unbelievably beautiful. The scans come nowhere near capturing how gorgeous the images are. It's so hard. I love books so much I spend waaaaaay too much money on them....I want to give this to everyone for their birthday/ Christmas present.

Resort Fashion: Style in Sun-Drenched Climates

Wow, if ever there was a book for me, this is it. I constantly struggle with trying to come up with outfits while I'm sweaty and uncomfortably hot. Most of the time I start out thinking I've nailed something approaching stylish and cute but often end up looking just a bit homeless. I like sunshine as much as the next girl but a southern California climate can be a sartorial challenge on the best of days...

Pink Perfection.

Saturday afternoon I found this tiny phone on the floor of the store. I don't know where it came from but I consider it a gift from Heaven. I keep it in my pocket and every now and then pretend to answer it (when I'm with friends, not alone). I think it's hilarious. They don't.

Heart.

This is Susie - her fashion blog stylebubble.co.uk is fast becoming one of the most influential in the blogosphere. She always looks like a very stylish loon. I heart her.

Rule Britannia!

I love you Marc.

More Small Structures.

Floating Sauna in Hardangerfjord, Norway

Both from the Aurland Lookout in Aurland, Norway

Ohhhh. I want to go to Scandinavia extremely badly. I like wearing big jackets and layers. I'm sick of wearing shorts in September in Southern California. I asked Jimmy last night when I might be able to wear a jumper next, and he looked at me and said "end of November" and shrugged. I stomped off and defiantly made some soup which made me sweat my nuts off. Sigh.

As a very small human, I heartily love a book devoted to small structures.

At the risk of sounding like an old fart....

They just don't make adverts like they used to.

I know there's an umlaut-y thing on the i of Naive but I can't find it.

Chanel And Her World

Chanel and Her World

"Fashion does not only exist in dresses: fashion is in the air, it is brought in by the wind,
one feels if coming, breathes it in, it is in the sky and on the pavement, it depends on ideas, customs and happenings."
Coco Chanel

I think she would have been a hoot to hang out with. I have a friend called Coco too - we call him that because he's coco loco.

Bibliographic.

Books about books are the best books around! I don't think the scans do the pages justice. The layouts of this book are incredible. I love, love, love graphic design books and this is a book about graphic design books. It's triple, quadruple lovelovelovelove! Simply perfect. It makes me want to go on ebay, abebooks etc and get every vintage graphic design book it mentions. I will bankrupt myself however. So I am fighting the urrrrge.
