Eggxtreme Halloweeen!

"What are you looking at? I come to work dressed as an egg every day. Now stop bothering me, I'm eggxtremely busy trying to make a graphic. Jeez."

"Oh hi. Yeah. I'm eggxcellent today? And you?"

My BFF really loves Halloween. Like REALLY loves Halloween. Today she has gone to work in her Hussein Chalayan inspired egg dress. She made it all herself. She's insane and I love her.

Parky.

Camper.

I would like nothing more than to fill up a VW camper with dogs and patchwork quilts and take a road trip across the country. It's a bit of a pain-in-the-nutsack that the love-o'-my-life doesn't really like being in a moving vehicle. It may be a trip I take with the yentas.

THEY DO! THEY REALLY DO!

One Hundred Years of Menswear. Part 2.

David gets his own post all to himself. This is because I like people called David and I heart David Bowie. My friend Anne has a dog called Bowie. Anne looks like a wood elf.

One Hundred Years of Menswear.

One Hundred Years of Menswear by Cally Blackman

Sigh. I know I'm a tomboy but for reals - menswear is so delish.

My obsession with taxidermy is becoming a problem. Now I'm looking for a taxidermied tortoise. I blame Sabin.

The Front Line of Fashion

The Front Line of Fashion
$59.95

Not only does this tome have a beaut of a cover it also has lovelylovely photos inside, all about new designers...but it's bound really tightly and I can't scan the pics without fear of snapping the binding so I aint going to. No matter how much I love you all.

EGON!

This is Egon Von Furstenberg. There are several things I like about him:

1. His name is fantasticballs.
2. His mustache is without a doubt the best one in the world ever.
3. His eyes seem to be trying to tell me something meaningful.
4. His book called "The Power Look At Home: Decorating for Men" is HILARIOUSLY WONDERFUL AND EVERY MAN SHOULD OWN ONE.

Around The World.

Old tinted photos remind me of my Nan. ooooOOOOooh I LOVE my Nan!

I like mountain peaks. My friend Jen just climbed Kilimanjaro. I don't know if I love 'em that much.

There's nothing like a good fog horn to get you going in the morning.

I never realised that Venice looks like 2 fists having a cuddle. Or a vicious game of thumb-war.

Around The World
$55
I love a good nosey through other people's holiday snaps. This book is perfs - a catalogue of photos, menus, calling cards and newspaper clippings from turn-of-the-century jollies.

Bats By Night....

I stopped by last night on my way out to meet Davidge for a spot of dinner. Took some pictures of the window at night....it really does look better in person but I think one can get the jist of it. OOOOOOOH and I might be doing a radio interview tomorrow on DnA - the design and architecture monthly radio show on KCRW. The host called yesterday after hearing about the window. Needless to say I'm terrified I'm going to say hairy balls or F***sucker or something else entirely inappropriate.

Oh Biba.

Biba Ad 1968

What!? Holy Reindeer Skins!

"The walls of the retractable extension are covered in reindeer hides, turning the living area into a sensuous fur-lined cave. Inspired by the Sami culture of northern Scandinavia, this treatment acts as excellent insulation."

INSAAAAAAAANE.

I have to say I find the propped up rifle a bit terrifying but that's probably because I'm a cowardly-livered nancy-girl. And "retractable extension"?!?!?!? Wowzers.

From: Arcadia: Cross-Country Style, Architecture & Design - yes I love this new book, what of it?

Polder Ceramics

It's strange and interesting to me that a Dutch photographer taking pictures of a line of Dutch ceramics can make the images so silent and totally motionless. Just like a Dutch still-life.
(I've been trying to eat less carbs lately and the picture of those dirty potatoes made my mouth water. I think it might be a sign it's time to perhaps eat one.) The images are all from Arcadia: Cross Country Style, Architecture & Design.
